My photo
Jeff Carnes
Tampa, Florida, United States
William Jeffrey Carnes, Managing Director of Lectores Information Technology, LLC, also practices labor law in Tampa, Florida. (http://wjcarnes.com) He is a native of Kannapolis, North Carolina, growing up in the shadow of a notoriously non-union textile mill. Upon beginning his career in the fire service in 1973, he was well versed in the disadvantages of non-union employment. Florida’s public sector bargaining law was in its infancy. Jeff became a firefighter and union activist with the Temple Terrace Firefighters IAFF Local, later rising to rank of Captain with the Tampa Fire Department and member of IAFF Local 754, serving as executive board member, negotiation team member and political director. He served as President of the Bay Area Council of Firefighters and the 10th District Vice President of the Florida Professional Firefighters. He is a current member of FTP/NEA and the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee.
